We’re a full-on treasure hunt for the bold, the unique, and the Cat-obsessed. With authentic antiques, unusual vintage finds and new handmade gifts, we bring together the past, present & pure fun under one roof!

We support independent Artists, so you will find fresh, modern treasures too: art prints, graphic Tshirts, stickers, candles, buttons, and magnets that make the perfect gift (even if the gift is for yourself).

So do we.  Seriously, we have a Cat Throne—sit on it, take a pic, live your best life. We adore Cats, and although there are no Kitties in the shop, we have a subtle Cat-theme and a Feline Family brag board to post pictures of your beloved.

Shopping on a budget?

Although we have many collectible items, we also aim to provide affordable, quality products. We purposefully host price points for everyone, because we know that every scrappy cat deserves a treat!

More than a store, Scrappy Cat is pro-community. We stand firmly against fascism & offer goods accordingly. 

You will find items with themes against: ableism, bigotry, hate, homophobia, misogyny, racism, transphobia and xenophobia. 

We proudly endorse inclusivity, diversity, & equity and want a World where everyone is free to be their fantastic selves. Love is Love and community is everything.

Reuse, Recycle & Renew

We love to preserve objects of yesteryear and some of our antiques and vintage items have been restored or repaired in-house. Less waste is important.

If you are looking to adopt a Kitty in the area or volunteer to help animals, we highly recommend Animal Friends of Lansdowne (Lansdowne) and Project Meow (West Philly).

Both are non-profit, all volunteer animal rescues.

PARKING

FREE PARKING in the Borough on Sundays and major, Borough-recognized Holidays.

All other days: 

The Borough has a new parking fee system effective 11/17/25. It will cost $1/hour to park in Lansdowne on the street and in the municipal lots. You can pay on the Park Mobile app (for a 45 cent additional fee) or at the Kiosks with quarters or debit/credit cards. We are also happy to make change for you, no purchase necessary. Max time to park in the municipal lots is 10 hours.  Max time to park on the street is 2 hours with a one hour optional extension.

 

Parking Locations:

-Folks who shop at Aldi & Sama often park free there and walk 1/2 block to us afterwards.

-There is parking on the street out front of Scrappy Cat and on surrounding blocks.  The Borough did not plan for kiosks anywhere in sight of street parking. So you must pay via the Park Mobile app or walk to one of the two kiosks to pay. Tip: Remember your zone number where you park on a street and your license plate number to pay at either kiosk .

-30 N. Lansdowne Ave, Lansdowne, PA. Veteran’s Landing: large municipal lot across from the Lansdowne Theater and at the end of our block. One pay kiosk is here.

-8 N. Highland Ave, large municipal parking lot behind Dunkin Donuts/next to the Firehouse. A block from us. The other pay kiosk is here.

-45 S. Lansdowne Ave. Septa lot not Borough affiliated. Often has free spots in the evenings. Last checked it is $2 per day. This is a block and a half from us.

 

We apologize, the new parking system is inept and we tried to fight it. We hope you visit us anyway!

 

ACCESSIBILITY 

There is one handicap parking spot on our block and several more at both municipal lots. There is one step from the sidewalk into Scrappy Cat. We have a portable, sturdy metal ramp we can put out on request (holler or call 215-201-9882). Apologies, we would leave it out all of the time, but it can be a trip hazard.

This is a small bathroom on the first floor Customers are always welcome to use.  However, there are no handrails. Our neighborhood coffeeshop, Camellias, a few doors down, has a nice, accessible bathroom when they are open.  We have a bench for seating on the second floor and a table and chair set outside that you are always welcome to use. 

There are a variety of lights and music on the first floor of the shop.  The second floor with the Books and Cat Throne is quiet.
